Cancellation & Missed Appointment Policy

We hold your appointment time for you, so when it goes unused at short notice it usually cannot be given to anybody else. This page sets out what we ask, and what happens if an appointment is missed — so there are no surprises.

Why We Have a Cancellation Policy

None of this is meant to be heavy-handed. Things come up, and we would far rather move an appointment than have you miss it.

How Much Notice We Ask For

Please give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or move an appointment. A phone call is the fastest way; you can also reply to the reminder message we send.

Late Cancellations and Missed Appointments

An appointment cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may be subject to a practice fee. Call us if you need the current policy details before booking.

If something genuinely unavoidable happens, tell us. We would much rather hear from you than not, and we take the circumstances into account.

Medicaid Appointments

If your treatment is covered by Medicaid, missed appointments are reported to the state. That is a requirement of the program rather than a decision we make, and it applies to every Medicaid provider.

How to Reschedule

Call the office during opening hours and we will find you another time. You can also book online at any hour. If you are running late rather than cancelling, still call — depending on the day we can often still see you, or shift you to later the same afternoon.
