Late Monday, March 16th the American Dental Association (ADA) issued the following statement:
"The American Dental Association (ADA) recognizes the unprecedented and extraordinary
circumstances dentists and all health care professionals face related to growing concern about COVID-19. The ADA is deeply concerned for the health and well-being of the public and the dental team."
In order for dentistry to do its part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the ADA recommends dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures and only handle emergent issues for the next three weeks. Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow us to care for our emergency patients and alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on hospital emergency departments."
As the concerns continue to evolve we rely on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) ( www.cdc.gov ) and the ADA ( www.ADA.org/virus ) in order to make informed decisions regarding the health and safety of our patients and staff. Effective immediately, Mountain View Family Dental will only see patients on an emergency basis.
At this time we plan to return to normal operations on Monday, April 6th. If you have an appointment scheduled between Tuesday, March 18th through Friday, April 3rd, we will be contacting you to reschedule. Our phone lines will remain open during regular business hours. If your call is not answered it will be returned as soon as possible. Emergencies will be assessed on case-by-case basis through a phone consultation. The office will not be open for walk in patients or questions. Please call first.
In a time of unique uncertainty we are doing our best to stay positive and healthy, we hope the same for you and your loved ones. We're all in this together.
